Similares en concepto a los White Stripes o a la Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Black Keys son un duo que hace estupendo rock garajero con pasión por la música blues-rock, explotando con talento influencias de grandes nombres de finales de los 60 y comienzos de los 70 como Free, BadCompany, la Creedence Clearwater Revival, Stooges, Cream o la Jimi Hendrix Experience, por no hablar de los gigantes clásicos del blues.

Compuestos por el cantante y guitarrista Dan Auerbach y el batería Patrick Carney, The BlackKeys se formaron en el año 2001 en la ciudad de Akron, ubicada en el estado norteamericano deOhio.

When You're Strange

Documental sobre The Doors estrenado en 2009 y escrito y dirigido por Tom DiCillo.
El tecladista de la banda, Ray Manzarek, ha dicho que "esta será la verdadera historia de los Doors", e indicó que este documental será el "anti-Oliver Stone", refiriéndose a la película de 1991 que Stone dirigió.
When You're Strange fue estrenada en el Festival de cine de Sundance el 17 de enero de 2009, donde recibió críticas favorables en general. Johnny Depp fue contratado para a grabar la narración.

3CD Box Set (Jequel 1992)

Tres CDs con perlas de rock psicodélico sesentista creada en 1992 por el sello secuela registros, con 50 pistas.

El primer CD trae las bandas de los Estados Unidos, algunos de los cuales son más conocidas como Love, Byrd, Velvet Underground, The Animals y otros más oscuros como Kak o The Lef Blank, y otras menos oscuras como Ultimate Spinach e Eletric Prunes.

El segundo CD es un paseo a través de la psicodelia británica, de nuevo llevando grupos más y menos conocidos. Cream y Nice desfilan lado a lado con Les Fleur, The Lys, Purple Gang y Incredible String Band, entre otros. También existe The Traffic, después de mucho tachado de rock progresivo.

Por último, el tercer CD trae un cajón de sastre de bandas de distintos países e incluye la propiedad con música de Nico y John Cale en rol psicodélico. Y una agradable sorpresa: The Freudian Complex.

Estaba liderado por Steve Harley, cantante y compositor influenciado tanto por Bob Dylan como por David Bowie, Lou Reed y Roxy Music. Life Like (2008)

Es una banda conformada por un dúo: la pareja de esposos Ivan Howard y Kelly Crisp, de Carolina del Norte.

El sonido de The Rosebuds consiste en un Indie Rock fuertemente influenciado por el Folk, y con el toque de electricidad suficiente como para que algunas de sus canciones sean dance.

la forma del disco varía según la percepción de cada uno. Es una buena forma de describirlo considerando que estamos hablando de un disco realmente difícil de describir. Las canciones toman forma de sueños perturbadores y altamente hipnóticos. Las letras toman un rol principal (cosa que no se ve mucho en las bandas actuales) y se complementan muy bien con el ambient de los acordes sombríos de la banda.

Talentoso y polifacético: ese es Will Holland aka Quantic Domina la electrónica como pocos, algo que ha demostrado sobradamente con sus dos álbumes previos: The 5th exotic y apricot morning. Pero es que desde ahora sabemos que también es un inspirado director de orquesta que ha querido rendir un homenaje a la música que le gusta: el funk, el soul y el jazz de los setenta, groove en estado puro. Para esta ambiciosa tarea, debuta con The Quantic Soul Orchestra formación de once músicos y una cantante de ensueño, la cada vez más cotizada Alice Russell. Pero el reto es el siguiente: sacar adelante un proyecto de música en vivo sin ni un solo sample (con lo que renuncia a una característica de su discografía como Quantic)

El primer trabajo de The Quantic Soul Orchestra, Stampede, es un álbum valiente, decididamente fresco y con todo el sabor de los clásicos, desde el jazz hasta el afro-beat, pero con un claro predominio del funk.
